On Sunday I got to go take pictures of the gorgeous Jiz Lee. I took over 1000 photos in just under 2 hours, which is impressive, even for me. I’ve been working since then to sort through and “process” them – secret speak for all the wonderful things that can be done with photo editing software.
Although I am not wealthy enough to own a copy of Photoshop, iPhoto is able to go a long way towards making ok pictures look much better.
Sadly, I can’t publish any of the pictures I took of Ms. Lee, due to various issues regarding rights and releases, but I can show you what I mean with a family-friendly garden picture.
Here’s a picture I took of some red flax growing in our yard:
First I crop the image to make sure that the flower gets the focus:
Once I’ve got the shape right, I can play with light and color to create different moods:
(On a few of the images, I even used a tool to erase a few imperfections, but the results just don’t show up well unless you look at the pictures in full resolution.)
The hardest part is deciding which image looks the best. Some of the pictures I took of her look best in black and white, while others demand the nearly obscene color saturation I got from playing with settings on my camera as I shot. Out of the original 1000, I’ll be choosing a few hundred to burn to cd and send to her. I’ve got no delusions about my abilities as a photographer, but I did take some really cool shots, and I love to share.
So, that’s what I’ll be doing today, at least until it’s time to go get the weasels from weasel jail. Except that, instead of petals and leaves, I’ll be staring at skin and muscles, lips and legs, fingers and pussies…
My life…sometimes it is very, very good.

I’m hoping, at some point, that some of those photos will be put somewhere that the rest of us can enjoy them. I think you have an excellent eye for interesting, sexy images that stay with the viewer long after the viewing. Regardless what Jiz decides to do with all the photos she gets from that shoot, I have confidence your pictures will catch her eye.
The flower is beautiful and it’s fun to get some insight into the ways you play with images. I know you’ve done miraculous things with pictures of me and I’m a very lucky boy to have such an artist for a girlfriend.
I loved your photos (up on her site) and followed you back here to your blog. As long as you negotiate an agreement with Jiz Lee via the CSC to publish the pictures you took (web or traditional media) there’s no reason that couldn’t happen. It’s a mechanism the club put in place to make modeling safe. You are free to show pictures to friends or make prints for personal use as long as they are not distributed or copied (email, posting online, etc.). I’m really glad you were at the shoot! It was wonderful to see so many female photographers.
